Makarfi causing confusion in Adamawa – Ardo

Former Adamawa state gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Umar Ardo, has lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Caretaker Committee chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, for causing confusion in the state.
Dr. Ardo, who was the former Special Assistant to the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Research and Strategy, said Makarfi’s decision in recent times has unsettled the party in the state claiming for instance that the dissolution of the party’s executive committees at the councils and wards without taking into consideration the position of the stakeholders and the zoning arrangements would be detrimental to the party’s quest to recapture power in the state.
Dr Ardo, who was also former Director of Research and Strategy of the Peter Odili Presidential Campaign Organization and had last week led a protest of major stakeholders in the state to call attention to a faulty zoning formula adopted by a group in the party ahead of last Saturday’s PDP ward congresses, believes the confusion created by Makarfi may have turned back the hand of the clock for the party.
Ardo, who attempted to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting the 2014 Presidential election on constitutional ground but you was unsuccessful, was of the conviction that unless the National Caretaker Committee chairman retraced his steps and correct the faulty decisions that he had so far taken, efforts to reposition the PDP ahead of the 2019 general elections could hit the rocks.
Further, he said the zoning formula adopted by a group with the full support of the NCC was a clear act of insubordination to the party and urged the NCC to revert the decision noting that not doing would amount to the return of impunity and crass indiscipline that were responsible for the crash of the PDP in the 2014 general elections.
