Makinde pursuing selfish agenda with demolition of Oyo liaison office, renovation of Gov’s office – AD Chieftain

Former Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate in Oyo state, Engr Oyedele Alao on Wednesday accused Gov Seyi Makinde of “pursuing selfish unreasonable agenda” with the sudden renovation of the Governor’s Office and the demolition the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja.

The AD Chieftain in a statement by his media spokesman, Omotayo Iyanda, made available to newsmen in Ibadan challenged Gov Makinde to without wasting time ” explain the genuine reasons behind the sudden and urgent renovation of the Governor’s Office and the demolition the Oyo State Liaison “

According to Engr Alao, ” The reasons given by the state government for the demolition of the liaison office was not tenable” and that  Gov Makinde should ” explain why he had also embarked on the renovation of the Oyo Governor’s Office which  started two weeks back with the governor  not making any official statement.

“Does he think he can wake up and do things without duly informing the people?  Whether they are budgeted for or not, the residents of the state deserve to know how much has been expended and/or to be expended on the projects. If they are not budgeted for at all, then our governor, as a “transparent” leader he has always claimed to be, should explain where he would get the funds to execute the projects or is he funding them from his personal purse as a “philanthropist”? , he said

The AD Chieftain added, ” of course, it’s bewildered that the governor could suddenly demolish the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and also pulled down some sections of the Governor’s Office, namely the security post, the reception and the press crew office because considering the high taste and psychedelic nature of late Senator Ajimobi, the sections being pulled down by Governor Makinde is uncalled for.”

” In summary, Gov Makinde would do well to answer these questions — are those “projects” so important to the generality of the people of Oyo State? Of what direct benefits are the “projects” to the people of the state? What impact will the “projects” have on the economy of the state? Are these the kinds of “projects” a serious government should concern itself with when people are seriously struggling to feed and survive?  Again, Your Excellency, sir, all these questions beg for answers from you!”.
