Maku craves unity for PDP to return peace in Nasarawa

Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, has appealed to members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State to remain steadfast and united as the 2015 general election approaches so as to reclaim power and return peace to the state.
Maku, who made the plea in Abuja during an appreciation party after bestowed with honour as Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Goodluck Jonathan, lamented at the incessant political instability that have characterised and severally attempted to divide the state into ethnic and religious circles under the present opposition leadership of the All Progressives Congress.

He said: ‘’As far as I am concern the fight going on in Nasarawa State is political, and has nothing to do with ethnicity or religion. So, whoever is killing and destroying the state should stop it and remember that we are all the children of God.’’
The minister explained that the primary objective of any leader was to save lives and ensure peace among people, which he highlighted as his cardinal reason for participating in politics.
appreciated President Goodluck Jonathan for the honour which according to him will motivate his contribution to national service, and the people of Nasarawa state for their trust; opportunity and support that have elevated him to the current position in the country.
“I will use this national honour that has been given to me to serve Nigeria better, and dedicate my life if need be because Nigeria is a great nation that the rest of Africa is looking up for leadership.”
