‘Mama Taraba’ was exceptional, generous, compassionate, Bala Bello mourns ex-women affairs Minister

The Executive Director (Corporate Services), Nigeria Export-Import Bank, Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello, has described the former Minister of Women Affairs and gubernatorial candidate in Taraba state, late Aisha Jummai Alhassan, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’ as a woman with exceptional generosity and compassion.

Dr. Bello in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday said, ‘The entire nation was shocked by the unfortunate news that our dear Mama Taraba has answered the supreme call and transited into the great beyond.

“As mortals we are all perpetually under the threat of death and we submit ourselves to the verdict of our creator. Painful as her demise is to us but we are consoled by the outpouring of grief across all shades of the national spectrum, which underscores the totality and depth of her touch and connection to Nigerian population irrespective of religion, creed and political divide”.

“Mama Taraba traditional orientation moulded her into a cosmopolitan matriarch whose exceptional generosity, forthrightness and compassion made her a household hold name in our homestead and a treasured iconic personality of impeccable character and patriotism.”

The seasoned banker further said, “Mama Taraba’s life was simplified in less-of-her and more about others. She indeed lived for others.”

He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul a compassionate eternal rest and admit her into the company of the righteous.

A seasoned politician, Aisha Jummai died on Friday May 7, 2021 after a brief illness in Cairo Egypt.
