Man arraigned for alleged N130, 000 fraud

A 62-year-old man, Johnson Oyelade, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for alleged fraud of N130, 000.
The police prosecutor, Mr. Ajayi Sunday, said told the court that the accused person and other at large on 20th January 2017 at about 1pm at Moje Junction, Abaku area, Osogbo, did conspire together to commit felony to wit stealing.
“Johnson and others now at large on the same date, time and place did obtain the sum of N130, 000 from one Ayuba Garba with pretense of selling a Bajaj motorcycle.

According to the charge sheet, the alleged offence committed by Johnson was punishable under sections 516, 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II, Laws of Osun state of Nigeria 2003.
However, counsel to the accused person, Mufutau prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal term, promising that he would not jump bail if granted bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Olubukola Olowolagba, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She thereby adjourned the case till March 3, 2017, for mention.
