Man arraigned for raping 6-year-old girl

The police in Kano have arraigned a 20-year-old man, Sadi Ahmed, before a Senior Magistrate’s Court No 25 sitting at No-man’s Land for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl.
First information report (FIR) indicated that Ahmed, who is a resident of mile Tara in Kadawa village of Ungogo local government area of Kano state, allegedly committed the crime on March 19, this year, when he lured his victim and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

It said: “The report added that one Inusa Nuhu, a resident of Mile Tara, Kadawa village in Ungogo local government area of Kano state, had reported at Ungogo Police Divisional Headquarters, alleging that Sadi Ahmad deceived and lured his daughter and had a sexual intercourse with her.”

The accused person denied the allegation, but police prosecutor, Corporal Ibrahim Abdulrazak, informed the court that the offence was capital in nature, adding that the case file was ready for DPP advice.
The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Ummi Sani Kurawa, ordered the case to be adjourned to April 29, for mentioning, and further ruled that the accused person be remanded in prison.
