Strange! Man climbs bank mast, jumps to death in Ibadan

A yet to be identified man on Saturday, at Elewure/Sango junction area of  Ibadan committed suicide by jumping from a mast belonging to Wema Bank in the area.

According to the Oyo state Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Lawrence Fadeyi, the man said to be naked while climbing mast scaled through the bank’s wall fence in the early hours of the day without the security guards at the bank noticing him.

Sources in the area said the yet to be identified man headed for the bank’s wall fence few minutes after returning from the vigil with his parents.

It was learnt that the man on getting to bank’s mast reportedly stayed put there for almost an hour.

Blueprint correspondent gathered that it was while the man was on the mast that men of the Nigeria Police as well as Oyo state Fire Service arrived the scene pleading with the man to come down from the mast.

Eye witness account said amidst the pleas by the Police and Men of the Oyo state Fire Service, the man suddenly jumped and hit his head on the bank’s building roof.

Confirming the story, Oyo state Police Public Relation Officer, SP Lawrence Fadeyi, said the body of the deceased has been deposited at Adeoyo Hospital, in Ibadan and that autopsy would conducted on the deceased.
