Man in Police net over death of creditor in Ibadan 

A middle aged man, Mutiu Idowu, is in Police net in Oyo state for allegedly killing a 73-year- old man who loaned him money.

Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams, stated this while briefing journalists through the command’s Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, at the Oyo state Police command headquarters in Ibadan.

SP Osifeso stated that: “On 9th June, 2022 at about 10:45 hrs, one Adesope Adeolu reported at Eleyele Divisional Police Headquaters that on same date at about 0900hrs, he noticed that his neighbour’s entrance door was opened which was unusual. 

“On further enquiry, he found his neighbor, one Olusegun Rufus, dead in his living room in pool of his blood. 

“Based on further investigation and credible intelligence, one Mutiu Idowu was arrested and he confessed to have killed the deceased in order not to pay the money he loaned from the deceased,” he said.

“The vehicle that he used as collateral for the loan which he stole after the murder of the deceased has also been recovered and  the suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigations.” he said.
