Man jailed for stealing motorcycle

A 45-year-old man, Anthony Ogbodu, has been sentenced to one year in prison by an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun state for stealing a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N150,000. Th e Senior Magistrate, Mr S. O. Banwo, who gave the ruling, however, did not give the convict who pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of stealing, an option of fine. Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Chudu Gbesi, had told the court that the accused committed the off ence on June 10, 2017, at about 1am at No. 32 Ajala Close, Temidire, Ota. He said that the accused stole the motorcycle belonging to one Taiwo Ige, but was caught by a security guard and handed over to the police.
