Man nabbed for allegedly slitting friend’s throat over motorcycle in Jigawa

Jigawa state police command has arrested one Sale Shanono , a 30-years-old man in Doguwa village,  Jahun local government area for allegedly slitting his friend’s throat.

Confirming the incident, the state police spokesman SP Abdu Jinjiri, said they have received the report of the crime.

Jinjiri explained that a report was received by the police in Jahun on Monday at about 2000hrs that one Yakubu Amadu, 30yrs of Dogawa village in Jahun local government area of Jigawa  state carried his friend one Sale Shanono 30yrs on his boxer motorcycle to join him to his in-law’s house to help reconcile him with his wife.

According to the report, on getting to a bushy area along the way, the said passenger, Sale Shanono brought out a sharp  knife and sliced the throat of the owner of the motorcycle in other to steal the boxer motorcycle from his friend.

The PPRO said the victim was badly hurt and fell off the motorcycle. Sale escaped with the motorcycle thinking that he had killed the owner.

A Good Samaritan who saw him quickly rushed and reported the matter to the police, who immediately rushed to the scene of the crime.

The victim Yakubu Amadu was found in a pool of his own blood and was rushed to a hospital in Jahun. The victim sustained grievous hurt on his throat.

When he regained consciousness after receiving treatment, Yakubu Amadu narrated his story to the police which led to the arrest of the suspect

The police arrested the suspect and also recovered the motorcycle.

The police said the case is still under investigation, after which the suspect will be charged to court.
