Ogun state Police Command yesterday arrested a 43-year-old man, Ini Udoh, for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of three minors.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed this in a statement yesterday in Abeokuta, saying out of the three of them, two were nine-years-old, while the other was 12.
He said: “It was gathered that the suspect who lives in the same compound at No 2 Agboola Close, off Ijoko road, Sango with the victims’ parents used to lure the girls into his room whenever their parents and his own wife are not around under the pretence of sending them on errand and have sex with them at different times.
“Trouble started when the mother of one of the girls noticed what look like a sperm in her pant while washing it and this arouse her curiosity which made her to question the girl properly.
“It was this that led to revelation that the suspect has been having sex with her and two others whenever their parents are not at home.
“On hearing this, the fathers of the three girls namely: Lateef Sikiru, Lawrence Effiom and Ikechukwu Udozor jointly made a report at Sango Police Station Consequent upon which the DPO, SP Akinsola Ogunwale, detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the randy suspect. The three victims have been taken to the General Hospital for medical attention and report.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered immediate transfer of the case to Anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.”
He warned parents to always take the security and wellbeing of their children very seriously, especially the female ones, in order not to make them easy preys in the hands of all “these shameless old predators.”
