Man nabbed trying to sell son for N5m in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Nasarawa state command, Thursday, arrested 42-year-old man, Ayuba John, for trying to sell his biological son.

The state commandant Mahmoud Fari revealed this to newsmen in Lafia.

Fari explained that Ayuba John was arrested in Lafia, while allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son, Solomon Ayuba, for N5 million to a buyer who informed the security.

He also explained that the motive was monetary, explaining: “Mr. Ayuba took his son to sell for N5 million, saying he wanted to argument money to improve on his financial status”.

The commandant explained further that Ayuba John, a father of 23 children, also allegedly sold his 14-year-old daughter, Hajara Ayuba, for ritual purposes in Owerri Imo state, which the command was still investigating.

“Presently, we are working with our men over there to see the possibility of arresting the remaining criminals involved.

“Ayuba John has five wives but he divorced Solomon’s mother. He has 23 children; 13 boys 10 girls,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fari said, a rapist, Garba Wamba, 45, was also arrested for defiling a 10-year-old girl, explaining that the suspect had confessed to the crime.

The commandant said the suspects will be taken to court to face the consequences of their actions.
