A father of 12, Umaru Jeriri Duwatsu, of Gusau local government area in Zamfara state has slapped his wife, Inno, to death.
The incident occurred, Blueprint gathered, following a minor disagreement over alleged favouritism of the co-wife.
The village head of Jerin Duwatsu, Magaji Hamidu, said the deceased’s wife had protested against what she described as “injustice” by her husband by favouring the co-wife, a situation that led the husband to physically confront the wife and in the end he slapped her to death.
Our correspondent also learnt that Umar had spent over 40 years with his deceased wife and they were blessed with12 children.
When contacted, the Zamfara state Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawal Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, saying that within the shortest time possible the accused would be arraigned in court for murder.
