Mararaba “A” Division of the Nigeria Police has swung into action, dislodging all the gangsters selling Indian hemp and cocaine at popular Orange Market, Mararaba with many of them taken to the state CID in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

It was further gathered that the new DPO acted on a directive from the inspector general of police ,IGP) Mr Solomon Arase, and the state police  commissioner who had directed that in line with the new policy direction, he must restore sanity to  the commercial town hitherto known for its rowdiness and lawlessness.
Ewah, when contacted on the crackdown, declined comments, but said the correspondent should meet the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
A cross-section of residents interviewed, however, confirmed the development, acknowledging that the new DPO was a stern police officer with the competence to take the force to places.

Meanwhile, police sources have disclosed to Blueprint that the men of the force in the division had already been deployed to VIP positions, churches, mosques and markets to ensure that Sallah was marked without any ugly incident.
Residents have also been encouraged to report any ugly incident to the division to safeguard lives and property during the festivity.
