Marketers jostle for Obesere rape scandal VCD, movie

Popular Fuji singer Abass Akande Obesere, who was recently accused of rape in a funny twist, has totally turned the whole misfortune into a fortune.
Apart from upcoming plans to release a movie about the incident, Obesere has dropped a VCD documentary narrating his ordeal.

According to his publicist, Deola Adeoti, who spoke with CelebGist this week, Obesere only wanted to document the unfortunate experience, however top movie marketers in popular Alaba market in Lagos have not stopped bombarding the musician with phone calls day and night just to buy the right to market the works.

Deola said: “I think it’s because the marketers know the commercial viability of the works, especially as it involved a big fish like Obesere.”
Titled “Rape Scandal” (Koseleri), the VCD’s cover artwork features a photo of the alleged rape victim Olanike Olaiya, an elderly lady Alhaja Bola Omo Owo (the woman believed to have linked Obesere and Nike up) and the Fuji singer himself.
“Koseleri” translated into English means “it can never happen.”
