Matawalle commends military operations against bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara state, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has commended the efforts of the military in a joint task operation in dislodging bandits in the state.

The Governor made the commendation through his Commissioner for Security and home affairs, Abubakar Muhammad Dauran in an interview with newsmen in Gusau Tuesday.

According to him, the commendation was imperative considering the tremendous success the military is attaining in fighting bandits who are not ready to embrace peace and surrender their weapons to the state government, adding that the efforts of the military is worthy of commendation.

“Indeed, the current efforts by the military in a joint task operation to forestall the activities of the dreaded gang of recalcitrant Bandits in the state is highly commendable and we shall strive to give them all the necessary support to mitigate them for our lost peaceful coexistence to be restored back”. Matawalle said.

Matawalle further assured that his administration will always support all the relevant security agencies with needful assistance to enable them restore peace in the state.

He added that the state government under his leadership will sustain the ongoing peace reconciliation process with any group of bandits who are willing to lay down their arms to the state government and embrace peace.

The Governor then enjoined law abiding people of the state to cooperate with the security agencies by feeding them with information about criminals hideouts or any strange movement within their domains for prompt response.

Blueprint reports that within the week i, the Nigerian Army in a joint task operation with the Nigerian Air Force had bombarded many Bandits camps in Maradun, Maru, Tsafe, Shinkafi and Zurmi local government councils forests respectively.
