Matawalle donates 200 vehicles to Zamfara security operatives

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state,Tuesday donated brand new Hillux mobility operational vehicles to security agencies in the state.

In an address of welcome during the formal handing over of the vehicles to security agencies held at Zamfara Trade Fair Complex, Gusau, the state Commissioner for  Security, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Dauran, appealed to security agencies to utilise the vehicles appropriately and restore peace in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Matawalle stated that the vehicles donated by his administration to security agencies were meant to mitigate the calamitous trend of banditry and other criminalities in the state.

He said the benefiting security agencies of the donation by his administration include, Army, Police, Immigration, FRSC, Zamfara Road Traffic Agency (ZAROTA), Nigeria Correctional Services, EFCC, Hisbah Commission among others.

Governor Matawalle stated that his administration is ever ready to receive repentant bandits and other criminals in the ongoing peace and reconciliation process by his administration.

“The ongoing peace dialogue process with bandits is still working and my administration is ever ready to receive repentant bandits and criminals who are ready to surrender and I am strongly warning unrepentant bandits that their dates are numbered and we shall strive to deal with them decisively without fear or favour,” Governor Matawalle stated.

He said his administration will not compromise security, adding that anyone caught in the dastardly act of attacking innocent citizens will be executed, according to the laws, irrespective of where he came from.
