Zamfara state Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has Monday received his first dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine injection and formally flag- off the Covid-19 vaccination exercise in the state.
Receiving the injection in his Office which was administered by the state Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed Kanoma, Matawalle called on people under the age of 18 and above to ensure they are vaccinated and always follow the Covid-19 protocol to contain the spread of the disease in the state.
“I want to call on state government officials, security agencies and public to make sure they are vaccinated for their safety”. Matawalle said.
During the formal flagging up of the vaccination by the Governor, Speaker, Zamfara State House Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya and the state Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Maru were among those who received the first Jab of Astrazeneca vaccine.
In his remarks, the state Commissioner of Health Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar Kanoma said, the state received a total of 55,920 doses of the injection as 27, 960 people in the state are expected to be vaccinated in the first circle of the exercise.
