Matawalle sacks 14 LG bosses

The Zamfara state governor, Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun, has approved the dissolution of the 14 local government councils’ sole administrators in the state with effect from Friday, June 4, 2021.

The permanent secretary, Ministry for Local Government, Abubakar Jafar Maradun, disclosed this in a statement issued in Gusau Friday.

According to the statement, their dissolution followed the expiration of their tenure elongation period of six months as earlier approved by the House of Assembly which expired on Friday.

“In view of this, the out-going local government councils’ sole administrators have been directed to hand over the affairs of their local government councils to their respective directors of administration and general services with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.

It indicated further that Governor Bello Matawalle thanked the out-going sole administrators for their services and wished them success in their future endeavours.

The governor had on Wednesday sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, the Chief of Staff, Col. Bala Mande (retd.), the Deputy Chief of Staff and the commissioners.
