Matawalle summons Emir of Maradun, district head over killing of Fulani

The Zamfara state Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has summoned the Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Tambari, and his Senior District Head, Sarkin Yamma of Maradun Emirate, over the killing of two Fulani men in Kaya Village.

The men are suspected to have been killed by group of vigilantes known as Yansakai on Thursday.

Matawalle had also directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the state, CP Abutu Yaro, to summon the emir and district head to ensure that behind the killing were exposed.

He gave the directive after receiving an SOS from stakeholders after a security meeting held at Government House Council Chamber Gusau, on Thursday.

The Governor threatened to dethrone the emir of and the district head if they failed to expose the culprits within three days.

“The CP should take note of this, if they failed to bring those behind slaughtering of two Fulani People within their respective domains we shall take decisive action against them, by dethroning them,” Matawalle stated.

According to him, the peace reconciliation process initiated by his administration would continue and be sustained between the warring parties in order to achieve relative peace in the state.
