Matawalle tasks Zamfara Muslims on lessons of Ramadan

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has enjoined Muslims in the state to adhere to the good lessons learned during the month of Ramadan, including sacrifice, tolerance and patience.

The governor made the call at a state-wide Eid el-Fitr broadcast Saturday to mark the end of the Ramadan fast.

“We will have a better world where peace and tranquility will reign; mutual interdependence will prevail, and economic prosperity will thrive if we show kindness to others,” the governor said.

He further said during the Ramadan, his administration released money for feeiding and purchase of grains for distribution to the teeming civil servants at subsidised rate.

Also, the sum of over N55 million was spent for procurement of 280 cows which were distributed to civil servants, groups and communities to mark the 1441 AH Sallah and festival.

“We have equally distributed a consignment of shadda and atamfa clothing materials to 40, 000 orphans across the state to enable them have new dresses for this Sallah celebration,” he said.

In view of the current pandemic of coronavirus, Matawalle call on the entire people of the state to adhere to the safety measures prescribed by the National Centre for Disease Control NCDC, in order to control the spread of the disease in to the state especially during Sallah celebration and beyond.
