May 29 handover: Yobe sets up 18-member inauguration squad

Yobe state government has inaugurated 18-member steering and
inauguration committee ahead of the handover of leadership to the newly elected governor, Mai Mala Buni.

Inaugurating the committee on Wednesday, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam
represented by his deputy, Abubakar D. Aliyu, said the committee’s terms of reference was to plan and execute a successful handover come May 29, 2019.

“I implore you to contribute meaningfully to justify the confidence reposed on the committee by the executive governor.  You should not fold your arms and wait for the handover date,” he said.

According to the governor, sub-committees that will work hand-in-hand with the main committee have also been put in place.

The handover committee is headed by the deputy governor Abubakar D. Aliyu as Chairman, deputy governor-elect Idi Barde Gubana as vice chairman, while Permanent Secretary, Political Baba Ali Mohammed, will serve as Secretary.

Other members of the committee include the Secretary to the state government Baba Mallam Wali, Head of the Civil Service Usman Maraya, Chief of Staff Mohammed Nur Alkali, State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Chillariye, among others.
