May 29: Jos Imam admonishes citizens to pray, not castigate leaders

The Chief Imam of Jos, Sheikh Lawal Adam, has admonished the People of Plateau state to desist from abusing leaders for the overall development of the state and Country.

Shiekh Adam made the admonishment during a special prayer as part of activities to mark the inauguration of Governor elect, Simon Lalong, come May, 29th held at the Jos Central Mosque, soon after leading the  Friday congregational prayer.

“Leaders are in serious need of constant prayers, not castigation, so that they can settle down to lead us well,” he admonished.

Sheikh Lawal, said the situation in the country demand that we pay for peace and development.

“We thank Allah, for the peaceful conduct of the last general elections, we also thank Him, for making us live at peace in our State,” he stressed.

The state Governor, Simon Lalong, said his administration would consolidate on the achievements of the last four years of the rescue agenda.

Represented by the commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Dayyabu Garga, said the Government has achieved the restoration of relative peace and harmonious coexistence under his regime.

“We will consolidate and improve particularly on the peaceful coexistence and unity of the People of Plateau State,” he said.

According to Lalong, the new administration will also continue to embrace all and sundry for the overall development of the state.
