Medicare: Adamawa Senator reaches out to 5000 constituents

Moved by the successes recorded during his first medical outreach and increasing demands of his people, the senator representing Adamawa  South senatorial district, Senator Binos Yaroe, has organised another medical outreach for the people of his constituency targeted at 5000 patients.

The exercise which was held at Ganye general hospital attracted many people from the various local governments that make up his senatorial district treated on various type of ailments bedeviling them. 

Speaking at the end of the four days exercise on Thursday in Ganye, Senator Yaroe said that his decision to again intervene in the health sector was due to its importance in the lives of its people.

He promised that he would never failed his people but will continue to do his best to alleviate their sufferings and deliver more dividends of democracy to in all sectors and make them proud in the National Assembly. 

According to him, the successes recorded in the first medical outreach where 8,030 people of his constituency benefited and demanding for more of such intervention has inspired him to organise the second medical intervention. 

Earlier, Dr. Jama Medan, who was part of the medical team said they initially targeted 5000 patients but more people turned up for the exercise left them with no option to overshoot their target of 5000 beneficiaries. 

According to him, the medical team with 50 doctors treated various types of ailments bedevilling the people. 

He said 106 surgery cases in hernia, fibroid, typhoid and ultrasound were carried out in addition to 105 cataract extraction, 400 glasses and over 500 eyes patients and 160 cases of tooth extraction among many other diseases were attended to.

Most of the beneficiaries including a 60-year-old  Mallam Halilu Aliyu who was living with hernia for 10 years and Mrs. Shalom Augustine who encountered miscarriages for three consecutive times were cured.

They commended the senator and thanked him for his humanitarian gesture.
