Messi, Suarez & Mascherano touchdown in Barcelona on private jet

Lionel Messi has returned to Barcelona after spending the Christmas and New Year period back in his native Argentina.
The 30-year-old, who wore a grey hoody and a black and white cap, touched down in Spain on Tuesday and was accompanied by his family along with team-mates Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano on a private jet.
Messi and his Barcelona team-mates were given permission to leave as the La Liga broke out for its annual winter break after their triumph in the El Clasico on December 23.
The Barca forward went back home to Rosario – a major port city situated 300 km up the Parana River from the capital, Buenos Aires – to enjoy some downtime with his family and see in the New Year.
Mascherano also spent the festive period back in Argentina while Suarez travelled back home to Uruguay before meeting up with his Barca team-mates.
Messi was snapped with his two sons and wife Antonella Roccuzzo, who donned a bright pink Playboy jumper, as they arrived at the Barcelona–El Prat Airport.
The three stars may not be given much time to settle back into their familiar surroundings wiThernesto Valverde’s side back in action on Thursday in their Copa del Ray clash against Celta Vigo.
However, boss Valverde may be inclined to rest stars Messi and Suarez with tougher tasks ahead, while Mascherano has not featured for Barcelona since November 4.
One player who does seem set to make his long-awaited return is summer signing Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele was discharged from the Barca medical team this week with the club declaring he has now fully recovered from the thigh injury he sustained earlier on in the season.
Valverde will most likely be feeling reluctant to throw the 20-year-old straight into the mix, given his long lay-off, but is set to name the youngster in his match-day squad.
