MHWUN tasks health workers on ethics

The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Federal Medical Centre, Keffi chapter, Friday, urged its members and other health workers to continue to adhere strictly to their professional ethics in order to improve on the standard of living of Nigerians.

Its chairman, Mr. Monday Otso, gave the charge during the maiden branch conference and awards ceremony held in Keffi local government area of the state.

He said members would continue to be committed to their duties in order to improve on the health and standard of living of Nigerians, adding that the union “has given topmost priority to the welfare of members so as to boost their standard of living and for effective service delivery.”

“We acknowledge the fact that our teeming members are looking up to us, the union leaders for answers to so many problems bordering on their general welfare. The union has purchased an ambulance, trained staff in different skills acquisition programmes for members to enable them become self reliant and for the overall development of the country,” he said.

He said the event was put together to further keep the union relevant to the concerns and yearnings of members and to also celebrate fathers and mother who made the sacrifice of establishing the union.

Also speaking, the Medical Director of the Centre, Dr. Yahaya Adamu, who was represented by the Centre’s Head of Clinical Service, Dr. Christopher Edeh, called on the association and other health workers to work in unity for the overall development of the country.
