Mikel assures Eagles’ total concentration in Austria

Captain Mikel Obi has promised the Super Eagles will get down to serious business at their training camp in Bad Tatsmannsdorf, Austria. The Eagles will finalise their preparations for the World Cup in Austria, where they will play a final test game against the Czech Republic on June 6 before they fl y out to Russia on June 11. Mikel said the team will be “totally focused” in their final training camp in Austria leading up to the World Cup. “We have to be totally focused in Austria, train harder, morning and afternoon and try to correct our mistakes,” he said after the Eagles lost 2-1 to England at Wembley on Saturday. “We need time to train well together.” Mikel blasted the England national team, accusing them of using a negative tactics in their 2-1 victory over Nigeria at Wembley on Saturday evening. Speaking at the mixed zone shortly after the game, the Eagles skipper explained why Nigeria struggled to get going in the first half and what led to the decision to switch to a 3-5-2 formation, which helped them dominate the second half of the game. “When you play against a team with five at the back they always have an extra man. How do you play against a team with five at the back? “It’s always difficult but I think in the second half we changed played five at the back to try and match them as well. We did and then we played much better, we created lot of chances and we scored a goal. We know we can play, we have to keep playing this way”, he said. The former Chelsea star however admitted the Eagles were poor in the first half against The Th ree Lions but stepped up their game after the interval. “First half wasn’t good, but in the second half we pressed a lot higher, we created chances and we scored,” he said.\
