Military imposes 10-hour curfew on Adamawa

As the military began what many called a full-scale offensive in Borno-Adamawa border towns, launching airstrikes against fleeing insurgents, the soldiers yesterday reviewed the curfew imposed in Adamawa State to 10 hours.
Adamawa State is among the three states where a state of emergency was declared by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Public Relations Officer of the 23rd Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Yola, Captain  Ja’afaru Nuhu, yesterday said the curfew would be between 7pm and 5am, until further notice.
Ja’afaru said: “Sequel to the prevailing security situation, a 7pm to 5am curfew has been imposed on Adamawa State.

“All law abiding citizens are advised to abide by the curfew.”
Our  correspondent reports that with warplanes throwing bombs from the sky on the  suspected insurgents’ camps, at least 20 were feared killed during the airstrikes, while about 25 others were injured, in a border village of Ndagu, on Friday.
