Military outreach: 1,830 receive polio vaccination, drugs in Sokoto

No fewer than 1,830 persons have benefited from polio vaccination, free distribution of insecticide mosquito nets, health checkups and treatment by the team of Nigerian Army Military hospital, Sokoto.
The exercise was performed during the military medical outreach for residents in Wurno local government area of Sokoto state yesterday, as part of activities marking this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2018.

The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Stevenson Olabanji, while flagging of the exercise, urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the free medical outreach.
The GOC, who was accompanied by Brig Gen Kennedy Udeagbala, Commander 1 Brigade, emphasised that the exercise was part of the civil- military activities of the Nigerian Army to ensure that the people received medical attention and be in good health.
Wurno village head, Sarkin Sudan, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of his people who were the beneficiaries of the exercise, commended the Nigerian Army for the kind gesture as well as their sacrifices in ensuring peace in the country.
