Mimiko won’t dump LP for PDP, says Nwanyanwu

The National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, yesterday assured that Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state  will not dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Reacting to a report that the governor was set to dump the party,  Nwanyanwu said   Mimiko will also remain with the party as a leader and critical stakeholder to lead the party to greater heights.
A news report over the weekend had it that the governor and Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state were set to dump their parties for the PDP.
In a statement in Abuja, the LP national chairman said, “This very insulting insinuation should have been ignored by Labour Party but owing to the fact that insinuations have been promoted by all manners of characters since 2009, when Governor Olusegun Mimiko first took oath of office as governor of Ondo state on the platform of the Labour Party.
“We have decided to briefly respond to it because it is a generally known maxim that ‘a lie told several times over could be perceived as the truth.
“Let us state for the umpteenth time that Governor Olusegun Mimiko does not intend to decamp to PDP or to any other party for that matter.”
