Minimum wage: Tripartite committee begins public hearing

The Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage, has scheduled to conduct public hearing in the six geo-political zones of the country as well as the cities of Abuja and Lagos. The public hearing which commences on the 26th to 27th April 2018, will take place in Enugu, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Gombe, Kaduna, Lokoja, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory.
Interested members of the public who wish to present memorandum, are advised to bring copies to the various venues of the public hearing. Following the demand of Labour Unions for review of the national minimum wage, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the tripartite committee to carry out the task. The committee, which has Ms Ama Pepple as Chairman, and Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment as deputy chairman, comprises of members drawn from the Federal and State Governments, the organised labour and Private Sectors Employers Association.
