Mining agencies tasked to be drivers of ERGP

The newly appointed heads ofNational Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency (NSRMEA), Kaduna; National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC), Jos; and Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos have been charged to be committed to the federal government Economic Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP).
The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Mr.
Olusegun A.
Adekunle, said in a statement that the three appointments were for initial period of four years, with effect from 12th July, 2018.
Axcording to Adekunle: “Mr.
President enjoined the new appointees to use their expertise and varied experiences to reposition and reinvigorate the agencies.
“He charged them to discharge their duties with utmost rectitude and sensitivity to government’s commitment to enhancing mining and steel sector as a major driver of the Administration’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP),” Adekunle said.
Recall that President MuhammaduBuhari approved the appointment of the three Directors-General/Chief Executive Officers (DG/CEOs) of the federal agencies under the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.
Those appointed are Engr.
Umar Albarka Hassan, DG/CEO, National Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency (NSRMEA), Kaduna; Prof Suleiman Bolaji Hassan, DG/CEO, Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos and Prof.
Linus OkonAsuquo, DG/CEO, National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC), Jos.
