Minister decorates ADC, escort commander with new rank

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, have decorated the ADC to the Minister of FCT, Mr. Hassan Idris, with a new rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The brief ceremony took place at the Office of the Minister.
The Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, and a Deputy Police Commissioner, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, also decorated the FCT minister’s Escort Commander, Mr. Umar Sani, with a new rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Speaking at the occasion, the minister congratulated the two promoted police officers, respectively, for what he described as “well deserved promotions” saying that it should spur them to greater heights.
Mohammed said every promotion-achieved comes with more responsibilities and therefore call on them to be prepared for greater task ahead, urging them to continue to give their best to justify “these elevations.”

According to him, “these further calls for greater commitment, dedication and patriotism to the nation.”
The ADC and the Escort Commander were, hitherto, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Inspector of Police, respectively.
