Minister pays glowing tribute to Maradona

The Minister of Youth and sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, has paid glowing tribute to Argentine football legend Diego Armando Maradona who passed away on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest.

According to the Minister, “Maradona was a delight to behold in his hey days.Football has lost one of its greatest icons.

“Maradona was a beauty to behold on the pitch, he was formidably talented and blessed with dazzling skills and creativity.

“He was phenomenal, a rare gem of the game . There are no better words to describe Maradona than simply fantastically talented.

“No doubt, football and the entire world has lost one of the greatest players of all time. Apart from Pele, he was one of the greatest dribblers in the game. May his soul rest in peace.”

Maradona passed away on Wednesday due to Cardiac arrest at the age of 60.

He captained Argentina to the 1986 World Cup in Mexico and ended his international career with 91 caps and 34 goals.

Maradona was famed for his controversial hand of God goal against England and his great individual goal in the same game.

Maradona ventured into coaching after he retired from active football.
