Ministry trains stakeholders on Water Resources master plan

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources, has organised a two days capacity building training for stakeholders on the 2013 Water Resources Master Plan on monitoring and implementation.

Speaking during the opening ceremony recently in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Dame Didi Walson-Jack, said the 2013 Master Plan is a priority to the Ministry.

She said the training workshop is to enhance the Stakeholders proper understanding of the Contents of the 2013 National Water Resources Master Plan.

According to her, the National Water Resources Master Plan was developed by the Ministry in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 1995 as the integrated plan involving development, utilisation and management of the Water Sector.

Earlier, the Director Water Resources, Planning and Technical Support Services Mrs Alice Ojowu in her welcome address noted that the 2013 Water Resources Master Plan document was due for review and hoped that the participants would have a better understanding at the end of the two-day workshop to facilitate further review of the plan in line with prevailing realities in the country.
