Missed reactions have continued to trail the death of a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Mercy Afolaranmi, that committed suicide recently.
The 16-year old Mercy was in 100level, studying Microbiology at OAU, before her death.
She was said to have written on her Facebook post that she wanted to see God’s face and speak to God face to face.
Though, some friends of the deceased said she intentionally killed herself because of the poor grade she had.
Some said her death was due to emotional pressure as some said that only God knows the cause of her death.
A colleague living in the same hostel with Mercy said that she killed herself because of poor grade.
Another student in the same hostel said she committed suicide because of emotional pressure.
Also, a colleague of Mercy said “we are only suggesting due to some observations, only God knows the cause of her death.”
A colleague of the deceased in the same faculty said she failed a very important course and may be the reason she killed herself.
