Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has denied media reports alleging that it sponsored the killings in Benue state, describing the reports as “misleading and big lies.”
Reacting to the weekend newspapers reports, National Publicity secretary of the group, Alhaji Yusuf Musa Ardo, said those socio-cultural groups in Benue state, which comprised Mdzough U Tiv, Idoma National Forum and OmiNy’Igede, respectively, were not sincere in their reportage to the general public.
Ardo said Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore “stands firmly for Fulani pastoralists across the nation,” adding that the Fulani were “peace- loving people who can accommodate anybody in their activities.”
“We stand by our people anytime any day; no matter the situations we would not let them down. That anti-grazing law will not work because there were no provisions provided by the Governor to make it work.
“If the so-called socio-cultural groups in Benue have nothing to say to the public, they should keep quiet and stop lying against responsible people that are contributing to the economy well being of the nation,” he said.
Ardo, however, stated that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore had earlier participated in the National Peace and Reconciliation Committee, headed by DIG (operations), Mike Zokumu (retd.) in 2014 which toured nine states, adding that the “correct peace committee in Benue state was initiated again by the association.”
“We strangling believed that the propaganda by the so called groups in Benue is been sponsored by desperate politicians in the state simply because Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore refused to be bribed to support the anti-grazing law, which is against the Fulani.”
