Monarch bans carnival, procession in Osun community


A traditional ruler in Osun State, Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oladejo Oyediran, Ajonbadi 111, has banned carnivals and any form of processions in the town. 


The monarch in a flyer shared to residents of Modakeke said he could not afford any thing that may jeopardize the peace and tranquility that have been reigning in the town. 


According to the flyer obtained by newsmen, the ban will remain till further notice to avoid breakdown of law and order.  


The release was signed by the MPU president, Public Relations Officer and the Ogunsua of Modakeke. 


It reads: “Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU) and the entire good people of Modakeke are using this medium to inform all sons and daughters of Modakeke and its environs that all forms of carnivals and processions are put on hold until further notice.


“This public announcement becomes necessary to avoid breakdown of law and order in our community. 


“We cannot afford to truncate the peaceful atmosphere we enjoy at present.”
