Monarch tasks FCTA on Dei-Dei abattoir

The Sarkin Pawa, Alhaji (Dr.) Usman Detti, has appealed to FCT administration to update the Dei-Dei and other abattoirs within the territory to an acceptable standard.
Detti made the appeal recently when he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration in his office by Cornerstone University, Jerusalem, Israel, in Dei-Dei, Bwari area council.
Detti said the slaughter house in Dei-Dei was built and commissioned by the then Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Umar Modibbo, and handed over accordingly, but stressed that since then, most of them were now sub-standard.
He further stated that as a law abiding citizen, he always ensured that the slaughter houses in the FCT operate according to the standard sets by the environmental and agricultural departments and they had been up to date with payment of his levies.
He, therefore, called on the relevant authorities to come to his assistance by improving on the infrastructure available at the slaughter houses in the capital city.
On his part, the country representative of Cornerstone University, Jerusalem, Israel and the Founder/Chairman, National Chronicle Magazine, Amb. Dr. Godwin Nyitse, said the conferment was to help uplift the values of good governance, pointing out that “this is our nations transitional journey towards true democracy, sacrifice to humanity, protection and preservation of human dignity, respect for rule of law, transparency, accountability, high moral discipline, international relation and co-operation among countries of the world.”
