MoU will promote unity govt, restructure – Ikimi

The Memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 38 other political parties is intended to promote unity government, restructure Nigeria and promote acceptable core national values.
This was disclosed by Chief Tom Ikimi when he unveiled the grand alliance of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) where a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the 39 parties at the Yar’Adua Center, in Abuja last Monday.
Ikim said all the parties have agreed to secure lives and property, rebuild and redirect our nation’s economy for meaningful development.
“The parties shall promote and constitute a well articulated blueprint manifesto which positive impact will be felt immediately, the manifesto shall be in covenant with the Nigeria people to promote national unity.
“The parties shall promote the merger that will bring about a unity government that will ushered in abundant peace, unity and prosperity and ensure safety of lives and properties. And bring about a well structure Nigeria federation, he added.
He revealed that the parties have resolved to work together to ensure the emergence of a joint Presidential candidate of which modalities for the emergence shall be under a separate agreement.
“The parties shall ensure that the coalition is committed to working together to support a single presidential candidate to dethrone and enthrone a true unity government that will salvage the country.
Though they are in a coalition, they however said each party would use its platform to champion the course of the coalition which is to wrest power from the ruling APC.
