MSSN commends Osun govt on teachers’ recruitment, urges fairness

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, has lauded Osun state government for the step taken to recruits more teachers to boost education system in both public primary and secondary schools in the state.

A statement jointly signed by the Amir, Osun state area unit and the Public Relations Officer, AbdulJeleel Arikewuyo and Saheed Raji, described the governor’s plan as laudable considering the dearth of teachers in government schools.

The Muslim students thereby called for transparency and fairness in the recruitment exercise, warning the body charged with the responsibility of conducting the exam against polarising it with religion, ethnic or political belief.

The statement also allayed the fear of Muslim women in hijab who will be writing the recruitment examination of the purported rumor that they will be denied the right to partake in all the processes as a result of their Islamic dressing mode.

It urged Muslim women to shun any form of examination malpractices, assuring that “no individual, agents or government establishment can take away their fundamental rights to use hijab and to adorn themselves with necklace and earrings in and outside the examination halls, interview sessions and or any other exercise leading to appointing them into the service of Osun state government.”

MSSN affirmed its belief in the administration of Governor Oyetola as a respecter of the rule of law who would not allow anyone from any quarters to truncate his good motive in governance.

The statement further stated that in the event of anyone sabotaging the fundamental rights of the Muslim women in hijab, the society shall take the necessary steps in bringing whoever that want to be a “black sheep” to book, no matter how highly placed.

In the recruitment examination scheduled to hold between 9th and 10th of February, 2021, MSSN prayed for the success of the process.
