MSSN suspends Islamic vacation course, others

 

The Muslim Society of Nigeria (MSSN), has announced suspension of all its programmes, including the coming Islamic Vacation Course, (IVC). 

A statement signed and made available to news men by the Zonal Amir,  Qaasim Odedeji,  weekend, said the suspension became necessary due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus. 

“This is to inform our teeming members and indeed the general public that this year’s April IVC slated for April 9-13, 2020 (Sha’aban, 16-20,1441AH), has been suspended. 

The statement said the program billed to hold at Ogun/Lagos Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA), Abiola way, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Osun/Oyo, Bilal bn Raba’ Islamic Centre Ile-Ogbo, Osun state, Ondo/Ekiti/Edo/Delta, NYSC Orientation Camp, Ikare, Ondo state, Rivers/South East/South South, Al- Usrah complex, Jaros Base, PH Rivers state, have all been suspended. 

“This is necessitated by the effects of the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID- 19) across the globe. 

“We commended the federal government on its efforts so far to combat the pandemic. 

“We urge the entire Ummah to intensify prayers as directed by the best of mankind, Prophet Muhammad (SAW). 

“We also implore everyone to obey Prophet Muhammad’s directive on hygiene and heed the advice of medical experts on preventive measures,” the statement read in part.
