MTN Foundation awards scholarship to students

Mobile Telecommunication provider, MTN has through its foundation given scholarship awards of N200,000 to each of the 1,164 students in different tertiary institutions in the country.
This comprises 1,068 in the Sciences and Technology and the rest in the Arts.
In his welcome speech during the award ceremony in Owerri, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Prof. F.C. Ezeh who was represented on the occasion, praised MTN for its Corporate Social Responsibility stance in the country, adding that the organization had awarded 8,452 scholarships running into billions in the past.
Also speaking, the MTN Foundation Director, Mr Dennis Okoro said the organization had sunk in billions of naira to make Nigerians happy through its corporate social responsibility like the scholarship award which tended to motivate the beneficiaries.
He advised them to remain focused, know why they were given the scholarships and maintain their grades in order to remain relevant in next year’s award.
