Justice Oyebola Ojo of an Osun state high court sitting in Osogbo, Thursday adjourned the case of Dr. Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of the Hilton hotel where a Master student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, lodged before his death to March 16, for the adoption of written addresses.
Adedoyin and six staff of his hotel are standing trial on the alleged murder of Adegoke, among other allegations against them.
Adedoyin’s counsel, Kehinde Eleja SAN, told the court that one Inspector Victor Ekpenyong and ACP Benedict Ago of the Nigeria Police Forest Laboratory that the respondent intended to call have been incommunicado despite their promise to testify in court.
He informed the court that he has decided to close his case and prayed the court adjourn for a final written address.
Counsel to the 2nd, 4th, and 5th defendants, Muritala Abdurasheed SAN, prayed the court to grant him two weeks to file his written address and five days to file his reply on point of law.
Counsel to the 3rd and 6th defendants, O.O Yusuf, and Eleja SAN, also applied for two weeks to file a written address and one week for a reply on point of law.
A representative from the office of Femi Falana SAN, Adesina Fatimah, promised that the prosecutor will file his written address in two weeks.
Justice Ojo thereby adjourned to March 16, for the adoption of a written address. She directed the counsel to the 7th respondent who was said to be in hospital, to file his address two weeks after the receipt of the prosecution address.
