Muslim group donates food to school for the deaf

Executive Director, Islamic Counselling Initiative of Nigeria (ICIN), Hajiya Fatima Suleiman, has admonished students of the School for the Deaf in Jos, Plateau state to have faith in God. Hajiya Suleiman gave the admonition when she led members and friends of ICIN to donate food items to the students of the school along Rukuba road, Jos. She said: “We bring love and prayer from ICIN and friends. We were here last year, and considering that we are in the month of Ramadan, we decided to revisit, to say see you and also bring something little for you.” The executive director further encouraged the students saying, “You are all special persons because God created you in special.” She said some time ago, the NASCO group of companies supported ICIN, which provided mosquito nets to the students during the anti malaria programme, adding that the NASCO family were in the team to also see things for themselves. A cleric, Ustaz Muhammad Hashir, admonished the students to be conscious of what brought them to the school, which is to study and be responsible leaders of tomorrow, adding that that some of them would one day become teachers in the school. He admonished the students, particularly the Muslims, to continue to do things that would encourage peace with non-Muslim students in the school. “Islam teaches people to help one another, to share what you have in goodness with the others,” he said. Hashir reminded the students to appreciate God and see their disability as blessings and not a course. The school principal, represented by Mr. Tosan Goma, appreciated ICIN’s gesture to the students and encouraged those with the heart for the less-privileged to continue to support their plight.
