Muslim media publishers charge youth on peace, stability

National Executive Council of Muslim Media Publishers Association of Nigeria (MMPAN) called on youths to embrace peace for national stability.
National President of MMPAN, Jafaru Maitaima Yakubu, gave the advice at the 6th annual Ramadan lecture in Kaduna, saying the lecture would focus on peace and unity for national stability.
Speaker and veteran journalist, Tajudeen Tijani, urged the Nigerian youths to resist any group or individual that would want to use them to cause disharmony in the country, saying they should not be used as pawn in the hands of mischief makers.
He said the youths have a vital role to play in moving the country forward, particularly in terms of man power and technological advancement.
Tajudeen further urged youth to increase their interest in research and innovation in order to advance in agriculture.
In his response, Kaduna based cleric, Pastor Yohana Buru, said disunity will never move the country forward; rather it will set the people backwards.
Kaduna state Commissioner of Finance, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, said Governor Nasir El-Rufai had initiated various programmes towards youth development and called for the support of government in order to move forward.
