Muslims hold Eid in Mosques, Oyetola prays with family, aides

Muslims in Osun state Friday observed Eid prayers in their Mosques as some observed theirs in their homes.

The state government had earlier announced cancellation of eid prayer, directing the Muslims to observe only Jumat prayer in congregation.

However, Muslims expressed displeasure over cancellation of the annual Eid while markets and clubs were opened.

The central praying ground at Oke-Baale was locked as Chief Imam of Osogbo directed that the Eid be kept shut.

Meanwhile, Governor Gboyega Oyetola observed the Eid prayer with family and aides at the Government House.

He called on indigenes and residents to renew their belief in God by being faithful to promises whenever they are made.

He advocated for unity, togetherness, and good neighbourliness among the citizens.
