Abdul Gombe, paid him a courtesy visit.
According to the NCPC boss, “we must not only own this country, but we must labour to make this country the land of our dream.” Uja urged the youth to refocus their minds on Nigeria, adding that “we have no intention that Nigerians should relocate to another country unreasonably.” He solicited for partnership with the Leadership Group that would help the Commission to fight abscondment of Pilgrims during pilgrimage, saying “we have resolved that whatever it will cost us to fight abscondment we will do it.” Earlier, the Group Managing Director told the Executive Secretary that their visit was to thank him for all the support and patronage the Commission had given to the paper.
He said the meeting was premised on the need to “seek engagement, partnership and synergy” that would enhance a long-lasting relationship between the two organisations.
Gombe added that the “peculiar and sensitive nature of pilgrimage requires serious enlightenment, education and advocacy that would galvanise the people to key into pilgrimage.” He noted that Leadership, as one of the leading newspapers in the country, had the “capacity to provide service to NCPC as an integrated newspaper and promised to dedicate a page for Christian pilgrimage in the paper “where opinions, features and news would be published.” He urged the NCPC boss to explore the resources of the newspaper, including its outsource company
