Governor Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa state has flagged off his 2019 re- election campaign with a promise to consolidate on his achievements and keep on the good work of moving Adamawa forward if re – elected.
Speaking at the event, the governor said that he has performed credibly well since he came on board to the extent that he won’t need to campaign for the people of Adamawa state to re- elect him in 2019 as his achievements is visible for all to see and cannot be denied even by his political enemies.
He called on the people of the state and the entire North East to re- elect president Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, stressing that the people of the state and the zone have no alternative to Buhari.
According to him, the president performed well, especially in tackling the challenges of insurgency, farmers/ herders clashes among other
achievements. He expressed optimism that the president will win the state and get re- elected for second term to continue with his people- oriented policies.
APC National chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole hit hard at the PDP and its presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and accused him and his party of planning to sell Nigeria if re- elected.
“Let me not talk much, the PDP presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi said that they are business men. If elected, they will sell Nigeria, they will sell NNPC among others. If
they sell all these assets, where can we get money to develop the country?”
According to him, when Atiku was the Vice President during Obasanjo government, he sold NEPA, he sold Nigerian Airways among many other national assets and the money cannot be accounted for. He called on Nigerians not to give Atiku and his party ( PDP) another chance to milk the country dry.
He also accused Obasanjo and Atiku of squandering I6bn USD in the name of power without any electricity. Instead, Nigerians were made to pay for services they did not enjoy.
He accused Atiku of enriching himself while in office only to build a university for himself in the state which is beyond the reach of a common man. He said Atiku failed to bring any development to the state
and called on the people of the state to re- elect president Muhammadu Buhari, Gov.jibrilla and all APC candidates in 2019.
Also speaking, the director general of president Muhammadu Buhari re- election campaign and former Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Ameachi said that, the 2019 election is between the rich and the poor as represented by PDP and APC.
According to him, PDP stole and find it difficult to stand three years of President Muhammadu Buhari. He said that is why they are fighting the president so that they can come back and continue with their stealing which the president blocked.
According to him, APC achieved a lot within four years in power tcompared to the 16 wasted years of PDP adding that the only area where PDP can beat APC is in the area of corruption. He challenged PDP
to debates on the performances of both parties.
