Chairman of the board of trustees of the National Association of Bassa Students (NABS), Dr. Sha’aibu Adamu has stressed the commitment of the association to sustain the scholarship scheme being given to members across the country.
He disclosed this to Blueprint when the students converged at Government Secondary School in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja to hold their annual national convention.
Adamu enjoined members of the association to concentrate on their studies and avoid acts capable of tarnishing their future ambition even as he implored them to always emulate the good virtues of their forefathers.
The chairman called on the students to deliberate on issues regarding their education, peace unity and progress of the nation just as he charged them to interact with one another and shear knowledge.
The board chairman warned them against indulging in politics of thuggery and strive to be good ambassadors of Bassa people in whatsoever position they may find themselves in their struggle in life.
In his welcome remark, the president of the association, Comrade Aliyasu Barau Gomani warned members against examination malpractices, cultism, truancy, and indecency in the campus even as he encouraged his successors to build from the good legacies left behind.
He called on his members to key into the skills acquisition programmes introduced to empower the students with a view to making youths become self-reliance after graduation.
